Dear travelers! Your Genshin Impact Developer team is back! First of all, we have to apologize for the delay and thank you for being patient with us and supporting us during such a special time.
Today we would like to share more about Genshin Impact’s version 2.7 Hidden Dreams in the Depths, which will arrive on May 31st on PS4 and PS5. As you continue to explore The Chasm, you will become a member of an exciting crew consisting of Yanfei and Itto, as well as new characters Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. With them you will discover more about the history and secrets of LIyue. At the same time, the Arataki Gang invites you to the Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival and the newest season of the rhythm game.
And if you’re a PlayStation Plus member, don’t forget to collect your free gift with every new version update.
Trapped – deep in The Chasm
It seems that The Chasm not only holds clues about Khaenri’ah and the traveling twins, but also the history and mysteries of Liyue – including how the residents fought monsters there 500 years ago. For a long time, Yelan guarded The Chasm, trying to find out what happened then, which may also be related to their own origins. In addition, the Yakshas seem to share a deep connection to the events of the past.
In the new Perilous Trail event, you will start a new Archon Quest Interlude Chapter with versatile characters in The Chasm. While Yelan, Yanfei, Itto and Shobu are stranded in the depths, danger also awaits the Conqueror of Demons, Xiao, who has launched his own investigation. Consider the crisis together and follow Xiao to unveil the story buried in The Chasm.
As the story progresses, a new combat challenge, Realms of Guile and War, will be unlocked – including the Perilous Trail Event where you can test your combat skills and group planning strategies. In this new game mode you have to fight in four different domains, each with its own rules, in several rounds. That’s why you should reschedule your group after each round. For example, the Direcliff Court Domain only allows one member of the current party to play again in the next round at a time, while the Kaleidoscope Cage Domain randomly bans two members from later fights. The challenge can be intimidating, so we have also provided various Stratagem Buffs and Trial Characters for you. Various rewards – like the new four-star bow Fading Twilight – await you in the Event Shop.
Also, our old acquaintance Hosseini the Sumeru Apprentice enlists your help again to deal with a new crisis in which a dark, muddy substance is spilling up from the depths. In A Muddy Bizarre Adventure, you must use your Lumenstone Adjuvant and Pursina’s Spike alongside the Apprentice to dissolve the mud, chase monsters away and complete all-new challenges like escorting a hot air balloon to its destination or defeating specific monsters in the shortest amount of time.
Meet Yelan and Kuki Shinobu
After Yealn and Kuki Shinobu debut in The Chasm, you will have the opportunity to recruit them in version 2.7. They have very different pasts and stories, but they are both very gifted and reliable characters for their friends and allies.
Yelan is the mysterious owner of Liyue’s Yanshang Teahouse, but her true identity is not easily explained in a few words. Also known as “a person of many faces,” she appears in various guises, pulls the strings behind events, and disappears before anyone notices her. She is therefore also a genius member of the secret service and can help Ningguang protect Liyue. Yelan enjoys life on the frontier, and her activities have taken her through other nations of Teyvat – even to the Abyss. If you’re curious about how this master of knowledge and disguise behaves in dire situations to uncover the truth, check out her story quest in Umbrabilis Orchis.
In combat, our new 5-star character Yelan prefers to rely on the bow, and when you play her, she brings the ability to be a Hydro DPS that combines fast attacks with high mobility. After a brief pause out of combat, Yelan enters a “Breakthrough” state, which allows her next Charged Aimed Shot to have a shorter reload time and, once charged, allows her to fire a Breakthrough Barb that deals AoE Hydro DMG. With her Elemental Skill Lingering Lifeline, Yelan can move quickly, marking her opponents and dealing Hydro DMG to her marked targets once her fast movement ends. Yelan also has a certain chance of restoring her Breakthrough status based on how many enemies she’s tagged. Her Elemental Burst Depth-Clarion Dice deals AoE Hydro DMG and creates a wondrous cube to aid in combat. The Cube follows your active character and initiates a coordinated attack when you unleash a Normal Attack or when Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits enemies. With Yelan’s passive talent Adapt With Ease, the active character’s damage increases over time while the die is active. In addition, Yelan’s Max HP will also increase depending on the number of Elemental Types in the party.
While Yelan protects Liyue from plots and threats, Kuki Shinobu is busy rescuing the boss and other members of the Arataki Gang from various threatening and dangerous situations. Although born into a family of shrine maidens, she has chosen a very different special path: She has learned many different trades and skills and has now earned so many degrees that her calling card can no longer list them all. She even studied law in Liyue as a junior graduate of Yanfei. It’s still unclear how Shinobu became the second-in-command of the Arataki Gang, but thanks to her efforts, the small group of ne’er-do-wells quickly became a crew capable of doing all sorts of errands and jobs. If you want to spend a day with the gang and learn more about Shinobu, don’t miss their hangout event.
A four-star Electric Sword character, Kuki Shinobu is a good support in battle and can heal teammates while constantly dishing out damage. Shinobu’s Elemental Skill Sanctifying Ring sacrifices a certain amount of their HP and uses it to create a Grass Ring of Sanctification that heals friendly characters within it and continuously deals Electro DMG to surrounding enemies. Shinobu’s healing abilities and the damage she deals can be enhanced with her Elemental Mastery. Their healing bonus can also be improved when their HP drops to a certain level. With her Elemental Burst Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite, Shinobu creates a special field in front of her that deals constant Electro damage to enemies.
Yelena’s Event Wish will be available right at the start of version 2.7, coinciding with Xiao’s return. Aratiko Itto and Kuki Shinobu will be added later in the update.
Be part of the rhythm with the Arataki Gang
While Kuki Shinobu is studying law in Liyue, Arataki Itto and his friends invite you to the Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival in Inazuma! It’s time to celebrate Shinobu’s graduation with a new Rhythm Game Event!
During this event, Itto will give you a Strange Small Drum to play with. The playing style is different from our previous rhythm game to better suit percussion instruments and the drum beats. If you manage to unlock all available melodies, you can also use the note editing mode and create your own beatmaps – and share them with other players!
When you stop by Inazuma, be sure to also check out the Core of the Apparatus event, where you can help a Fontaine Toy Merchant and get a variety of robot gear to put in the Serenitea Pot. You can also send this equipment to your friends.
In the last few months we have been improving the game’s CPU performance on PS4 and PS5. With version 2.7 you can now run the game even smoother, especially on PS4.
And last but not least, we offer all PS Plus members the PS Plus Pack with Mora x50 000, Hero’s Wit x20, Mystic Enhancement Ore x15 and Fragile Resin x2 in the upcoming version 2.7. After each Genshin Impact version update, this bundle will update and you can buy it again for free.
And that’s all for version 2.7 for now. We thank you and appreciate your continued support and we look forward to bringing you even more fun and excitement in the future!
